The briefcase is a personal object (like the waste or clipboard) which allows synchronisation of documents with a local PC. Folders can be put in the briefcase by a simple mouse click and synchronisation of BSCW with your local PC is started easily within the system. The documents stored on your local PC are managed by BSCW in a special folder - the briefcase.
  Click on this case symbol in the icon bar to access your briefcase - or choose  Go To    Case   .

The briefcase feature is particularly useful for synchronizing files on a local computer with corresponding files on a BSCW server after working off-line. You may copy some folders to your PC or laptop, read or edit the documents locally and use the synchronisation feature to update the documents changed locally with the BSCW server (and vice versa).
